ISO 3166-2 Newsletter Number I-9 was published on 2007-11-28. It simply adds Saint Barthélemy to ISO 3166-2, to stay in synch with ISO 3166-1. No subdivisions are reported.

In a referendum held on 2003-12-07, Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy voted overwhelmingly to become overseas collectivities under Article 74 of the French Constitution. The change took effect on 2007-07-15. Formerly, they had both been communes of Guadeloupe.
